Constantly Varied, Functional Movement, Performed at High Intensity
The Adult CrossFit Classes are scheduled for 60 minutes although on rare occasions you may be done in less time. Extra time always leaves room for Skill Work which we strongly encourage. Trainers will be on hand to assist you as needed.
On most days, Adult CrossFit Classes will include about 5-15 minutes of Metabolic Conditioning (METCON) Another 10-20 minutes on strength training and the remainder of the class will be devoted to the WOD. The WOD’s are “Constantly Varied” thus the workouts, movement s and method to which they are administered change every day. Kind of like the demands of life, you never know what’s coming but you better be ready!
Movements in the adult classes range from very complex weighted lifts to simple bodyweight movements. All movements are however “Functional” and often mirror movement we perform or should be able to perform in everyday life. Despite the movement SAFETY is paramount. You will only perform lifts or movements you’ve been trained on and at a manageable weight.
“Performed at high intensity;” CrossFit workouts are measured in a number of ways such as the time it takes to complete a task or the number of movements completed in a period of time or by the amount of weight lifted or moved over time and or distance. Regardless, intensity is what you bring to the table. Some days will be better than others but as you continue you lifestyle of CrossFit you will no doubt see progress over time.
